Are you new to GS1 Standards or need a refresher? This online certificate training covers the foundational aspects of globally unique product and location identification, barcoding with GS1 Standards, and the basics of data sharing.

Learn how to request that your NDC (National Drug Code) Labeler Code be included as part of your GS1 US-issued GS1 Company Prefix; how to use your GS1 Company Prefix to create GS1 identifiers for products and locations; build trade item hierarchies; and use the most common GS1 barcodes in accordance with industry best practices. You will also gain a basic understanding of the Global Data Synchronization Network™ (GDSN^®) and Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS) for sharing data, as well as the Package Measurement Rules and the GTIN Management Standard to help you apply GS1 Standards properly to your business processes.

Equipped with the knowledge of GS1 Foundations, you can:

• Lower product returns and rejections resulting from inaccurate product data
• Reduce scanning for linear and 2D barcodes that could result in unusable product
• Correctly apply GTINs to packaging levels for pharmaceutical and medical device products
